New Partnership Supporting Climate-resilient Businesses in Argentina and Paraguay

Our Foundation has agreed a three-year grant to support Sumatoria in expanding access to affordable, impact-driven loans for small businesses and cooperatives in Argentina and Paraguay, helping strengthen climate resilience and local livelihoods.

Climate volatility, ecosystem degradation and macroeconomic instability are increasing pressure on small businesses, which often lack suitable financing for adaptation due to short-term, costly and misaligned credit.

Through its Climate Resilience Window (part of Sumatoria’s Delta Fund), Sumatoria provides blended finance and technical assistance to enterprises in circular economy, clean energy, regenerative agriculture, ecosystem conservation and sustainable infrastructure. Grant capital combined with private investment helps lower borrowing costs, linked to environmental and social performance.

By 2029, the partnership aims to support 60,000 people, create an estimated 1,200–1,500 jobs, and bring 7,500 hectares under sustainable management.
