Geneva, 15 April 2025 – The Trafigura Foundation today published its 2024 annual report. Building on the strategic shift introduced in 2023, the Foundation sharpened its focus in 2024 on scalable, ecosystem-based climate solutions. With increased support from its sole funder, the Trafigura Group, it invested in a growing portfolio of high-impact partnerships – from global organisations like The Nature Conservancy and Plan Vivo to grassroots innovators such as Planet Indonesia and Clim-Eat.
“2024 was a year of compounding climate challenges, but also one of action and alignment for the Foundation“, said Andrew Vickerman, Chairman: “The Foundation’s strong and highly capable partners have been delivering real, lasting impact – whether by building disaster resilience, supporting carbon markets that bring benefits for both people and nature, or restoring coral reefs.”
Key highlights of the report include:
- USD 15 million in funding disbursed – a 50% increase from 2023
- 22 non-profit partners and 41 climate initiatives supported across 31 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia
- 60,000 people reached with resilience-building solutions
- USD 10 million mobilised through catalytic funding
- Ranked in the top 10% of global funders for impact and responsiveness (according to Grantee Perception Survey, Center for Effective Philanthropy)
- USD 1.4 million distributed through 45 employee-led charitable initiatives worldwide
- The report also outlines the Foundation’s investments in its own capabilities, including expertise in blended finance and impact investing.
